On 27th October, the Liberal Democrat Federal Returning Officer announced that quotas for reserved spaces on internal committees would work differently to previous years.
We're asking candidates to withdraw their consent for the Party to use any data about their Assigned Sex At Birth, as this data will be used to deliberately misgender trans and non-binary candidates and include them under the incorrect quota provision.
By signing this petition, an email will be sent to the Lib Dem Data Protection Officer withdrawing your consent for the Party to hold and use this data for any purpose.
The text of the email will look like the below:
If the party holds any information whatsoever about my sex assigned at birth, whether under my current name or any other names associated with [membership number], I hereby immediately revoke any permission I may have previously given for the party to hold or use this information in any way.
My gender is, and remains, [your gender].
